”Turkish Kebap” in Germany

This week our topic is Fashion and Cultural Appropriation and i am going to discuss about relationship between turkish foods and german culture.

Migration flows in turkey to germany started in 1960s and after that it never stops. Approximately 3 million turkish people migrated in past 40 years. It means that turkish population in germany is quite high.

In germany, Turkish foods are really popular especially olive oil dishes and turkish kebab. Before turkish foods getting popular, German people usually eats fast foods that’s why popularity of turkish foods is getting high day by day.

I believe that this is also a example of cultural appropriation because this is also a assimilation and mixing cultures. In germany, now, turkish foods have a important role. It means that part of a turkish culture is really affect another culture.
