I watched a video recently on TED.com which I think is connected to all the topics we talked about in class. Lecturer talks about manhood on movies and also points out how common sexual assault is towards women. One of the most interesting information he gives is the percentage of female protagonists in Hollywood films; only 11 of 100 top movies have female protagonists. He mostly talks about animated movies and different impacts on his children of different sexes and ages.
We watch stereotypes of women and men from our early childhood years, these kind of generalizations go on and on in our adulthood too mostly on television, advertisements and movies. I recommend you this video to notice the pressure on us about being an ideal stereotype, whether you are a woman or a man.
